Awards
Overall Champion
The best project of the challenge. The four Best in Category winners present again at the finale and are scored by all six finale judges. The project with the highest average is the Overall Champion, and also keeps its Best in Category award.
Best in Category (four awards)
One award for each category. At the finale, two panels of three judges score the finalists: one panel for categories A and B, the other for C and D. The finalist with the highest panel average in each category wins.
If scores are tied, the higher score on criterion 2 (use and understanding of AI) wins, then criterion 1 (problem and relevance). If still tied, the panel votes, and the vote is recorded.
Responsible AI Award
For the finalist with the highest score on criterion 5, responsible AI and ethics, at the finale. The Overall Champion is not eligible for this award, so it recognises a second team. Ties go to the higher total finale score, then a recorded panel vote.
People's Choice
For the Top 50 project with the most verified public votes. If votes are tied, the higher Round 1 score wins. The result stays sealed until the finale.
Best Teacher-Mentor
For the teacher-mentor whose guidance made the greatest difference to their students. Chosen by the organisers.
Recognition for every team
- Every team that submits a complete project is recognised for taking part.
- The Top 50 teams are shown in the public gallery and receive written feedback from the judges.
- The Top 20 finalists present at the finale.
